Hi folks I found this website which I am sure most will find very interesting..... http://www.nls.uk/broadsides/index.html I was pleased to note it only reported 1 Petrie... whose child was unfortunately the victim of a murder case.... and I wonder if any of our Orkney researchers can lay claim to her ....(use the search & browse facility on the home page and just put in the surname Petrie) ..... However now that I have searched other Surnames from my family tree..... it shows potential baddies all round ...oh dear !!!!! I also found an article in this website called "The Life of Calcraft"..... the article is dated as 1868 and it lists the names, crime & date, of all those executed in Scotland in the previous 200 years.... All a bit gory, but facinating reading !!!!! best regards norma --- avast! Antivirus: Outbound message clean. Hi Norma, I was talking to Hazel from Blairgowrie and she asked me to contact you about access to the web page. I am doing the family tree and am from the Kirkmichael Petries line. I would be very grateful if you could get back to me. Hi Stephen There seem to be TWO Petrie lines from Kirkmichael. Yours is Hazel's but ours is a parallel one. If you find a link, please let us know. This is one of the Great Petrie Mysteries!!! Hi Stephen, Yes, I'm convinced they are linked - our Petrie line and your Petrie line have intermarried a couple of times, too - just to make it more complicated! Will keep looking for the "missing link"- All the best, Stephen ----- Original Message ----- From: Stephen Baker<mailto:baker.karanest@btopenworld.com> To: petrie-scotland@rootsweb.com<mailto:petrie-scotland@rootsweb.com> Sent: 24 September 2006 17:33 Subject: Re: [PETRIE-SCOTLAND] Interesting Website Hi Stephen There seem to be TWO Petrie lines from Kirkmichael.
