What is your McLaren connection. My father (R.Y.Petrie) told me that I have McLaren links although its a few generations back. One of the Mclarens was very succesful in the US and there is a Mclaren Park on land he gifted to....I think... San Francisco or Los Angeles. I've tried to trace the Park without success. Perhaps it's been built over or is somewhere else instead. I'm definitely a Kirkmichael Petrie and have many relatives in Blairgowrie. I think some of my distant cousins are Fergusons, at least my Fathers best man was called John Ferguson I think. Cousins of my grandfather (also R.Y.Petrie) called Hardy went to Oregon. The last one I heard of was called Errol Hardy but I don't know if any still survive. My grandfather spent time in Oregon in the early 20th century and we have an interesting photo of him and family members on horses with chaps and cowboy hats outsice a ranch house. I keep meaning to follow that up. Kind regards Derek
