Married Agnes YOUNG and joined the 90th Cameronians, served in GOERS BRIDGE, KILKENNY, IRELAND 1833 - KANDY, CEYLON 1840, POINT DE GALLE, CEYLON 1843, TRINCOMALI, CEYLON 1845, SIMONSTOWN - S.AFRICA 1846, FORT HARE S.AFRICA 1849, GRAHAMSTOWN, S.AFRICA 1851, EDINDARIFF COUNTY DOWN, N.IRELAND 1854, DRUMNAKILLY, N.IRELAND 1857. Then, he migrated to Brisbane, Australia in 1875 on the ship "St. James" from Greenock bringing most of his family, some with families. One of his daughters Jane Douglas SAVAGE married James Charles OGILVIE (born Lund, Shetland) in Glasgow and they came on the "St. James" with her father and brothers. Roy and Marge I see you are researching Garrioch from Orkney My grandmother Betsy Garrick (Garrioch) was from Kirkwall Her father was Charles Garrioch b/1839 St. Andrews Orkney Her mother was Ann Munro b/1841 in Westray Any relation?
