Hello there to you Patricia, Margaret Petrie travelled out from Scotland in 1855 on her own and yes, she was a single woman and married Robert Gibson in Otago in 1859. I have always assumed that she was the Margaret Petrie who was a servant for the MacAndrews in the Thomas Burns diaries. I have been in touch with Kate Petrie and she may be able to give me a little more help. Hope I can get to the bottom of all this!!
