Hello to the Petrie Clan: How I wish I could join all of you for "The Gathering!" As I have told Norma, I have a long-standing commitment to be in Northern Maine to visit an elderly aunt of my wife next week. Our whole family (children and grandchildren) have had this time blocked out for months now. I wish you all the most wonderful time and one in which you find direct relationships as well as more information about your ancestors. I sent Norma a small booklet about the James Petries of Arbroath. It chronicles much of what I know about my great grandfather and grandfather, both of whom were named James. In addition to data about them, I included pictures of current generation folk and some memorabilia of Arbroath from the 1930s. So even though I cannot be there in person, at least I will be represented in part. I hope some of you find my booklet interesting and perhaps even useful. I too support the notion of having digital camera shots taken during the festivities. It would be wonderful to have pictures posted on the website for those of us who cannot attend in person. And to Norma and her dedicated team of planners and hard workers, I send my hearty compliments for creating an event that promises to be quite wonderful.
