Hello Patricia, Well, I have studied and studied and I still have the feeling that Margaret Petrie's parents are William Petrie/Isobel Gordon, born Sept 1834 Durris, Kincardine. I have just sent an email to Kate Petrie in Dunedin as I have a thought that she may know Margaret's parents. Fingers crossed, although it is getting pretty close to your departure date. I'll email as soon as I hear. Yes, all your other details are correct. Margaret Petrie married Robert Gibson on 11th March 1859.(Otago) Their 3rd son was John, born 14th July, 1864, and he married Elizabeth (Bessie) Petrie and they had 3 children. Robert and Margaret had 12 children and one of them has Isabella as a christian name (which might tie in with Isobel Gordon). So they are - William, Robert, John, Arthur Petrie, James Thomas, Susanna Hastings, Henry George, Anne Isabella, Edgar Harvey, Herbert, Margaret Petrie, and Isabella Thomson. Their Grandmother on the Gibson side was Isabella Thomson so that might account for the "Isabella". Hope all this is not just a muddle for you Patricia.
