Norma, I havn't been able to do much work on Ross's behalf for some time, since I have been travelling around and then I had to buckle down and read the volumous amount of 'Petrie e-mails' which have dropped into my in-box. However, and relatively speaking, Ross has a major problem which is two fold. Firstly, unlike myself ( a Flett from 'Finnichty' on the Moray Coast whose maternal ancesters lived in the same house for 150 years and in the same village for almost 400 years), Ross has little information on his family's geographical roots or source other than his father was born in Milnathort in Kinross-shire. Secondly, he has little information to provide me with by way of a point of departure other than his father's name, place of birth and date of birth. However, bearing in mind that his father's birth certificate should carry should carry details of his grandparent's place and date of marriage; and so forth, this single tenuous thread of information might just be enough...but with a little help? Unfortunately I have deleted one e-mail too many, but I recall that you mentioned that some obliging Petries may be prepared to consult the records in New Register House in Edinburgh. If that is the case, the information I have to hand is as follows: Father... Arthur William Petrie born in Milthnathort on 21st March 1917. Grandfather...William Petrie Grandmother...Isabella ?
