    3. Hi to all who will be going to the gathering I thought I would post a few items which may be of interest for those who are extending their stay and visiting Edinburgh. 1/7/01-24/3/02 DISPLAY 'Altogether a Delightful Country' - The Scots in Otago. The first in a series of displays looking at the Scottish diaspora in the 18th and 19th centuries. The exhibits, on loan from New Zealand, are typical of the items taken by Scots immigrants to their new home; they include kilts, bagpipes and commemorative objects which reflected their strong sense of Scottish identity. Mon-Sat: 10.00-17:00 Tues: 10.00-20.00 Sun: 12.00-17.00 Admission: FREE. Royal Museum of Scotland, Chambers Street, Edinburgh. 30/7/01-31/8/01 TOUR: University of Edinburgh Old College Tours. FREE guided tours of the Old College. A rare insight into an outstanding working building and a chance to see one of Edinburgh's most beautiful libraries. Meet at the University Centre on Nicolson Street at 1pm Mon-Fri. 5/8/01 FESTIVAL: Edinburgh Festival Cavalcade. Sun. 2.30pm. Last years parade included 35 floats, 36 bands including the cast of the Military Tattoo, 200 walkers and 200,000 spectators! Admission FREE Princes Street, Edinburgh.
