Hello Murray, Sorry, but I can't find any trace of your Joseph Petrie in my records. I had a look for him in the 1881 Census, but no luck there either. Have you tried looking for his marriage and/or death after 1851? Could it be possible he emigrated from Scotland? Sorry I can't be of more help. Best of luck with any future research.
