Hi to Russell and all our Petrie of Kettle researchers, !! :o) I do not have a record of an 1811 marriage date for a James Petrie & Mary Wallace, can you tell me where you sourced it ?? I am wondering if the 1811 date could possibly be a transcription error since the IGI record shows a marriage date of 11 October 1815...did the day get mixed up with the year ?? Only sure way of checking is to have a look at the Old Parish Record entries for these date, these records are available on Microfilm from any LDS Family History Centre. But since we have quite a few researchers on the list who are descended from this line, perhaps someone has checked through these records already, and can let us know ?? I have noted below the transcriptions I have from the death certificates for the James Petrie & Mary Wallace who I attribute to the 1815 marriage date, these show the parents names so hope they may prove useful for yourself and anyone else interested...
