Hello Fred, Many thanks for passing on the information relating to Joseph and Isobel Petrie. I found it all most interesting - a few more pieces of the puzzle completed! I noted that Joseph Petrie died at 6 Ferry St, Montrose, the very same address given on the death certificate of Mary Addison, just 10 years later. (Mary is on another line of my husband's family). I am now more than ever convinced that the two Addison families are connected. I guess only future research will tell. If you come across any further information on Andrew Petrie/Elizabeth Addison, I would be grateful if you could contact me. Likewise, I will be in touch if I have a similar breakthrough.
