Hello ALL: My name is DAVID WINDSOR PETRIE, born July 25th 1936,living at 51 Dorge Drive,Winnipeg,Manitoba,Canada, Postal code R3V1M3. As I have very little information on my Fathers side of the family,I would be interested in getting any information that I can,or especially finding the where about,addresses E-Mail or otherwise of any other living relatives who may wish to correspond. Most living relatives I believe reside somewhere in Scotland,( Aberdeen and Edinburgh ??? ) Anyway here is about all I know of my Father's side of the clan. Name - _ Thomas PETRIE, born April 2nd,1889,7/15 P.M. 27 North Castle,Sheet Banff,Scotland. His Father was William PETRIE and Mother Ellen PRINCE,who were married October 21st,1887, in Aberdeen Scotland. Prior to coming to Canada my Father Thomas had joined the British Army,Regimental # 8166 , serving with The Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders.He saw service in India,and was wounded in both legs during the 1st W.War. He came first to Canada on an Embarkation Pass issued 21/8/20 for Halifax or Quebec here in Canada.In October 1922 he was living at 98 MCaul Street,Toronto ,Ontario Canada. Around this time he immigrated to New York City,where he had two sisters.In 1924 he married my Mother Mary Elizabeth BOURQUE of Neelin ,Manitoba,Canada.Then in 1928 they immigrated to the Neelin Manitoba area where they farmed until his death from his war wound complications in April of l951.On coming from New York City,U.S.A.,they brought my Older Brother William and Sister Mary with them,myself and my younger sister Gladys were born here in Canada. To my limited knowledge,my father Thomas,was the oldest in the family,he had a sister ISABELLA, who married GEORGE FORBES,they immigrated to New York,USA,and later returned to Aberdeen sometime after 1928,they had two sons,George and Joseph,she passed away I believe in July 18th,1961. He also had a Brother James PETRIE,of Aberdeen who passed away , December 8th,1960,his children were Ann GREEN,Jeannie McKENZIE,Peggy LOBBAN,Mary GRAY,Alex PETRIE, Ella COYLE, John PETRIE,James PETRIE Jr. and Helen FORMAN,all I believe living in Scotland. There was also another sister Elizabeth who immigrated to New York USA,where she married Charles WILKINS,the youngest a brother Walter Prince PETRIE had also immigrated to New York USA,where he lived until his passing in 1959.He I understand had made numerous returns to Scotland to visit with relatives.. Well that's about all the information I have,but would be very Grateful for anything further or corrections that anyone can add for me. Also I would be very Happy to learn of or hear of or from ANYONE who may be related or have known my relatives,either by E-Mail ,or by Post.
