Hi group, We were becoming frustrated that we could find so few records of our Petrie clan, so we looked again at the IGI and OPRs and found that the records for the Collessie Parish contained some rather different spellings for our Petries. We believe they are all the same families because of the place and the time periods but one would not guess that from the Register. The Collessie entries for that period only recorded the name of the father and not the mother. Below is a list of the ones we extracted, in case anyone might be looking for any of these entries. If anyone connects with these Petries we would be pleased to hear from them. Unfortunately we could not find the birth of our Robert who married Christian Scott so we still have to solve the mystery. Also can anyone tell us where to find Abdie and Logie, they do not appear on our map of Scotland.
