Hi there, There is a cabin trunk for sale at one of our second hand emporiums, it has the following labels on it George V dock London miss Charlotte A PETRIE P & O ms Beltana via the Cape of Good Hope to Melbourne Then another label SS Maheno Melbourne to Bluff. I have tried to work out a date and reckon it must be 1929 -1934 The Maheno came on that route in Dec 1929 and was scrapped 1935, it sank on the way to the scrapyard. thought it might interest someone out there, Bluff is the seaport for Invercargill.
