Just last week we accessed the census for Holm and Paplay taken on 31March1851 and the first entry was:- Household - Graemeshall - Petrie,David -Head-Age 62-Farmer of 57 Acres & Factor. Petrie, Euphemia - sister -64 - Invalid. There were sixteen people listed for this household, one being Petrie, Archibald - servant - unmarried - 22- man of all works on farm. Also in this household was Petrie,Mary - servant -unmarried-19-housemaid (perhaps Archibald's sister?) Two entries down under the household name Cote of East Greaves was Shearer, Margaret, Head, Wife,38,Glover (Occupation) and Shearer, Jane, daughter,unmarried, 15. We only photocopied this one page so there could have been siblings,if you would like us to, we will check next time,it appears Jane's father was deceased,anyway it looks like your family John.
