Hi to the Orkney Petrie's I have had a telephone call from a Mrs Lillian Sutherland (nee Petrie) who now lives in Shetland, but who was born along with her Petrie ancestors in South Ronaldsay, Orkney. Lillian is an elderly lady whose father William Petrie was born in 1876 she knows her Grandparents were William Petrie & Ann Muir (married 1869 per database IGI info) and her Great Grandparents were Peter Petrie & Euphemia Oman (aka Omand) (married in 1824 per database IGI info)..... Lillian knows the location of all their burial plots and much more about each family and is kindly preparing her known information for us to record in our database. (Janine - I'll send on a copy for your Petrie - Orkney database as soon as I receive it !! ) Meanwhile I am preparing all the database information we have available on her families to share with her too.
