(after Banns of Church of Scotland) JAMES PETRIE age 40 shoemaker (Master) of Wester Dunidea, Kirkmichael Bachelor Parents: GEORGE PETRIE - Landed Proprietor ELSPETH McNAB ANN PETRIE age 33 Dressmaker of Tonloid?, Kirkmichael Spinster Parents: DONALD PETRIE - Farmer (deceased) HELEN PETRIE witnesses - ROBERT PETRIE (James' brother?) and AMELIA PETRIE (Ann's sister Emily?) As 2 of the parents, George and Helen, are brother and sister (their parents being JOHN PETRIE & BETSY ROBERTSON), James and Ann must be 1st cousins. Hope this isn't too confusing. I wouldn't even attemp to draw a family tree for this lot. Hazel
