Hi Brian I have a copy of The Phillimore Atlas and Index of Parish Registers which contains the pre-1832 parish maps for England, Scotland and Wales. The map for County Aberdeen shows the parish of Old Machar at the very bottom right hand corner of the County. The southern boundary of the parish seems to have followed the River Dee so according to my reckoning, Old Machar ran along the northern bank of the Dee for 3-4 miles and northwards up the coast for another 4 miles. It bulges inland a little at the top lefthand side to join the parish of New Machar. It's difficult to align these old maps with a current road atlas of the area but a rough guide of the boundaries (according to Allan !) could be the following present day locations. Bottom RH - mouth of the Dee Bottom LH - Town/village of Peterculter Top LH - Town/village of Newmachar Top RH - Town/village of Belhelvie I don't have a book copier but am about to buy a scanner so will be able to send you a copy shortly.
