Hi everybody. I have just discovered your existence and I am very excited. This is my first message. Trying to be brief, I live in Essex but I was born and brought up in Aberdeen. My maiden name was Durnin and my mother was a Petrie. I have managed to go back to approximately 1800. My Petries came from Drumblade and Auchterless. My grandfather James Petrie married Jane Kennedy. My great-gm was Margaret Petrie and my great-great gf William Petrie married Margaret Collie. They were generally farm workers. Anybody know anything about my lot? I would be very grateful. Violet Shaw
Welcome aboard, Violet. Sure wish we had a connection, my family was also from the Aberdeen. As far as I know my ancestors were all quarry workers. Haven't found any connections yet.
