    1. [PETRIE-SCOTLAND] Helen Marshall - Wedding photo of Annie Forbes Petrie
    2. Heather Johnson
    3. Hi there Jennifer and Karen/Stephen Re this lady ...... She was registered at birth as Helen Robertson Marshall - born 09 March 1885 at Westfield Terrace, Rattray (Westfield Terrace being an address where Helen and her hubby James were living at the time of James' death and where my Brodies were at one time .... just being up the road from James' parents Alex and Annie (of the wedding pic fame) last home of 'Wellwood' on the Balmoral Road). Helen's parents were William Marshall and Elizabeth Wardlaw - who married 29 Feb 1883 Rattray) Helen and James married 7 June 1907 Rattray. For the record, James died 26 Jan 1921 at The Cottage Hospital, Blairgowrie (usual residence Westfield Terrace, Rattray) of "Chronic Appendicitis and Cholecystitus. Suppuration 66 days" I'm assuming that Karen and Stephen are sending through our relevant Petrie pics to Jennifer? Jennifer - I'd certainly appreciate any pics of Helen you may think I'd like :-) Always appreciate adding pages to my files. Karen and Stephen - could you send through your tree to me also please - I know it's the same as mine but I might find that you have some new info I don't have and visa versa :-) Bye for now Heather >From: "Jennifer Petrie" <JenniferPetrie@hotmail.com> >Reply-To: petrie-scotland@rootsweb.com >To: <petrie-scotland@rootsweb.com> >Subject: Re: [PETRIE-SCOTLAND] Wedding photo of Annie Forbes Petrie >Date: Tue, 17 Oct 2006 23:21:47 +0100 > >Dear Stephen, > > This is another "Petrie Mystery!" > >The Lady in our album is definitely this Helen Marshall. 3. Hi there Jennifer, Norma, Karen, Stephen and All Haven't been ignoring you all. Have been away for the week - to come home to all this excitement!!! Jennifer ... please say hello to Linda when you meet. I guessed she was busy - up to something:-) I'll have to email her again - as it looks at first glance that we must be related (even if only by marriage) and we never knew it! It was Linda who gave me the pic of Jock to post on the site - she has been a great help to me, what with one thing or another. Will get my head around all of this info and get back to you very soon. 3. Dear Stephen, This is another "Petrie Mystery!" The Lady in our album is definitely this Helen Marshall. It may be possible that she was friendly with Stephen's granny, Elizabeth Marjory (Elma) Low, later married to Alexander Petrie, or possibly even her parents. Unfortunately, Elma didn't write names on the back of all her photos-( there's a lesson in there for all of us!) We do have other pictures of "Glenners" in the album too - for example, there are a few Women's Institute Outings in there, evacuee children and neighbours, not to mention various sheep, cows and hens. It's very confusing as everybody seems to have the same names. Thanks very much for sending your "tree" - I am just going to have a look at it now. What I have done, is get hold of all the records for births, deaths and marriages for Kirkmichael and Persie which have got Petries in them, and I have managed to fit nearly all of them on to the tree. There are a few strays in there that I still have to pin down, but I have most of them accounted for! The two lines have married in at least three times - so far. Thanks very much for taking the time to get back to me, I really appreciate it, Best wishes, Jennifer ----- Original Message ----- From: Stephen Baker<mailto:baker.karanest@btopenworld.com> To: petrie-scotland@rootsweb.com<mailto:petrie-scotland@rootsweb.com> Sent: 17 October 2006 22:06 Subject: Re: [PETRIE-SCOTLAND] Wedding photo of Annie Forbes Petrie Hi Jennifer According to our information, the lady in the photo was (H)Ellen MARSHALL, who married James Petrie. 1. [PETRIE-SCOTLAND] Wedding photo of Annie Forbes Petrie
    2. Jennifer Petrie
    3. Dear Stephen & Karen, I was looking at your photos last night and I found the one of Annie Forbes Petrie's wedding. I was looking at the Helen Petrie who is in the front row. We have photos of this lady in the album my granny left me. I am wondering if this could possibly be Helen Campbell Cameron, daughter of Stewart Cameron and Jane Petrie? She married a James Petrie. I'm guessing here, because the dates I have don't tally in exactly with your dates , but it does seem a bit strange that we have pictures of this lady too. Does anyone know who she is? Our photo is definitely the same lady but a few years younger. Hope everyone is well, Jennifer

Hi Jennifer - I did a check on a message board list, and although I don't know if this is the correct Linda Cameron, I did find someone with a "UK" address: linda@cameron5146.freeserve.co.uk<mailto:linda@cameron5146.freeserve.co.uk> from a message dated 2004 - the most recent one I found. 3. Dear Norma, this is amazing! Big Jock and Birke were my great uncles. Elma Stuart and her twin Winnie, and their brother Sandy and half brother Jim MacPherson were my grandad's cousins. Their mother Sarah Ann( my great aunt) married James Macpherson and he died when he fell off a roof at Drumfork. She then married Robert Stuart - his photo is on the Kirkmichael Session House website and went on to have the twins, Sandy and another daughter Jean, who went to Australia. We are related to both the Camerons and obviously, the Petries ,so this is fantastic news. I will try the email address and see if I get a reply. If anyone else knows how to contact Linda would you please be kind enough to let me know. I'm really excited about this!
