Depending how far back you are , the best sites are the Petrie website containing the files for the Petrie`s, the IGI index at familysearch.org, Scotlandpeople wich you pay for but it does have the 1871, , 1891 1901census. and also the Freecen.com for the 1841 census for Scotland and the Moray index (sorry but cant find the addy for that one). Hi Cyndy, I have a Jane Brown Petrie born 1870 Lasswade Midlothian, daughter of Andrew Petrie and Ann Lumsden ( married 1859 Kirkcaldy). I have no idea at present where the name Brown comes into this family. Andrews parents were William Petrie and May Mitchell and they were married in Ceres Fife in 1834. Regards Evelyn Brown
