Hello all. I am researching my grandmother's family - she is a Peters - and have managed to trace them back to the late 1700's in Pennsylvania, but have hit a brick wall from there. The earliest ancestor I have information on is Henry Peters, born 11/28/1787 in Pennsylvania and died 6/25/1849 in Lawrence Co., Ohio. He married Rebecca Wilhelm. They had seven children, with two of their sons marrying Duduit girls and a daughter marrying George Wurts. The information for the first three generations is below. Does this look familiar to anyone? I have already determined through Miriam that this line is not in her book on Tunis... Can anyone help me? Rebecca was born Pennsylvania March 10, 178 and died June 18, 1836 Lawrence Co., Ohio, at 47 years of age. PETERS, Henry and WILHELM, Rebecca had the following children: + 2 i. PETERS2 John was born February 18, 1814. + 3 ii. PETERS, Mary Ann was born about 1816. + 4 iii. PETERS, Isaac was born April 30, 1818. 5 iv. PETERS, Caroline was born before 1820. 6 v. PETERS, William H. was born January 1831. William died July 8, 1843 at 12 years of age. 7 vi. PETERS, Amanda was born April 30, 1832. Amanda died June 10, 1901 Ashland, KY, at 69 years of age. She married PATTERSON, Samuel. Second Generation 2. John2 PETERS (Henry1) was born Uniontown, PA February 18, 1814. John died September 22, 1897 Ironton, OH, at 83 years of age. He married DUDUIT, Mary Catherine Lawrence Co., OH, December 23, 1843. Mary was born April 4, 1818. Mary was the daughter of DUDUIT, Guillaume and LACROIX, Ziear and died October 6, 1897 at 79 years of age. PETERS, John and DUDUIT, Mary Catherine had the following children: 8 i. PETERS3 Josephine was born Lawrence Co., Ohio abt 1845. Josephine died abt 1940 in Ironton, Ohio. 9 ii. PETERS, William was born Lawrence Co., Ohio October 10, 1847. William died May 20, 1906 in Ironton, Ohio, at 58 years of age. 10 iii. PETERS, Ptolemy was born in Ironton, Ohio 1849. Ptolemy died January 24, 1912 Lawrence Co., Ohio, at 62 years of age. 11 iv. PETERS, John was born in Ironton, Ohio October, 1853. John died 1918 in Ironton, Ohio, at 64 years of age. 12 v. PETERS, Charles was born in Washington, Ohio November 19, 1855. Charles died December 7, 1909 in Ironton, Ohio, at 54 years of age. 13 vi. PETERS, James Francis was born in Ironton, Ohio December 7, 1858. James died January 7, 1892 in Ironton, Ohio, at 33 years of age. 3. Mary Ann2 PETERS (Henry1) was born about 1816. She married WURTS, George Scioto Co., OH, May 29, 1833. George was the son of WURTS, Samuel Grandin and HOOPER, Rebecca. George died April 9, 1869 Wurtland, KY. PETERS, Mary Ann and WURTS, George had the following children: 14 i. WURTS3 Sarah was born Scioto Co., Ohio May 24, 1834. 15 ii. WURTS, Rebecca was born in Kentucky September 15, 1837. Rebecca died February 12, 1888 at 50 years of age. 16 iii. WURTS, George was born in Kentucky bef 1839. 17 iv. WURTS, Ann was born in Kentucky December 6, 1841. 18 v. WURTS, John was born in Kentucky abt 1843. 19 vi. WURTS, Samuel was born in Kentucky March 22, 1846. Samuel died December 7, 1865 at 19 years of age. + 20 vii. WURTS, Mary Pell was born March 22, 1848. 21 viii. WURTS, Alice was born in Kentucky abt 1850. 4. Isaac2 PETERS (Henry1) was born Uniontown, Fayette Co, PA April 30, 1818. Isaac died August 26, 1897 Ironton, OH, at 79 years of age. He married DUDUIT, Adaline Louisa Scioto Co., Ohio, November 7, 1845. Adaline was born October 25, 1825. Adaline was the daughter of DUDUIT, Guillaume and LACROIX, Ziear. Adaline died November 20, 1906 at 81 years of age. PETERS, Isaac and DUDUIT, Adaline Louisa had the following child: + 22 i. PETERS3 Henry William was born March 17, 1847. I can't remember if I'm the good twin or the evil one
