    2. My mother was Fannie Mary Peters before she married my Dad. She lived in Harrisburg Pa as far as I know her entire life. Her Father was Albert H. Peters and mother was Annie Barbara Nee Hinkle Peters. I believe they were from Shippingsburg or there about. I'm not sure of the location of Shippingsburg. > Just trying again with my PETERS lines....... Any one out there with PETERS > in North East PA or North West NJ? 3. Shippensburg is located on the county line between Franklin and Adams counties, about 40 miles south of Harrisburg. If you can get a PA map, follow route 11 south from Harrisburg to find it. I'm related to most of the Peters in Franklin county. Do you have any more information on your grandfather or his parents? We may be cousins! I have records of an Albert Chester Peters, born about 1910 to George Albert Peters and Margaret Knepper. But I have no other information than that. If Albert Chester is your grandfather, I can give you a lot of information on the Peters side of your family! And you can add to the information I have too. 3. Hi, Kevin, Which Peters family in Franklin Co VA are you related to? I'm a descendant of Zachariah Peters (b. abt 1770) and Kesiah Lively who were married in Amherst Co VA in 1794, later lived in Franklin Co. Most of their descendants were born, lived, and died in Franklin Co. There were other Peters lines in Franklin Co-- Michael and Stephen -- and none of Zachariah's line married into the other Peters' lines. They did marry into their own family, however. The Michael and Stephen Peters' lines were German and they married other German families in Franklin Co. It is my belief (and other Zachariah researchers agree) that the Zachariah Peters' line was of British descent. Of course, this is speculation and no proof has yet been found. Zachariah's descendants did not marry into the German families in Franklin Co VA (at least not until the 20th century). I think I exchanged correspondence with Chester Peters about 25 years ago!
