Am looking for any information on Jane Peters, my gg grandfather Jonathan Peters' sister. According to a letter written 7/2/1864 by her brother James to her brother Zachariah, James writes, "Sister Jane is dead." No additional details are in the letter. In the 1860 Raleigh County Census we find the following household: 381 Henderson Shumate 26 Fidella 31 Gerorge W. 3 Virginia E. 2/12 Jane PETERS 22 Jane Peters, d/o Jordan Peters & Mary Troup, was born in Franklin County, VA & died before 02 July 1864 in probably Raleigh County, Va/WVa. Can anyone help me find Jane Peters & does anyone know her relationship to the Shumates? Thank you in advance for any information you may have & for any guidance you may render.
