Here is some of our latest family research from 1 of my Peters cousins. Anyone look familiar????? Crystal Crystal A. Message-ID: <246fe29d.24d8825e@aol.com> Oooh. Interesting info. Mind if I post it to the PETERS email list and see if anything (any one) turns up??? Please do put it out for more info. Christian Peters Very little is known of the parents of Christian Peters. The home was in the vicinity of Baden-Baden in Germany. There were seven children in the family. Christian was next to the oldest son. His brothers names were Lundelene, Dominique and Sophfare. His sisters were Anna Marcor, Mary Ann and Rosina. Christian Peters b Dec. 19, 1794 in Germany died May 2, 1884 married in Penn. 1822 to Susan Moats b Jan. 1, 1800 in Washington Twp, Franklin County. Penn. Christian and Susan had seven children 1. Nancy Jane Peters b Apr. 11, 1841 d Jan. 28, 1892 m John C. Predmore Christena lived in Elgin, Iowa Jerome lived in Dale, Iowa Mary Ann lived in West Union, Iowa Catherine lived on a farm in Clayton County, Iowa Matilda lived with her parents until their death then lived with her sister Christena in Elkader, Iowa. Nancy Jane lived in Colorado during the Pikes Peak gold excitement. Returned to Harding and Cass counties, in Iowa then moved to Custer County, Nebraska near Walworth. My (Elaine) Peters family settled in Brainard, Iowa, near West Union and Elgin. [Note: A great number of "our" Peters were in the Fayette Co., Ia/Northeast IA area in the same timeframe b4 going on to other areas.] I had suspected Christian Peters was a brother to Abraham Peters b June 13, 1792 died August 26, 1875, married to Elizabeth Wade. I think Abraham was born in Virginia and this record says Christian was born in Germany so if that is the case, they can not be brothers, more than likely cousins. There is a link someplace, I just don't know where.
Earlier today I received some obituaries in the mail. Along with an article on the golden wedding anniversary of Nicholas PETERS and Mary YOUNK. The following information is what I learned from these. Does it ring any bells out there? If so please e-mail me. Tracy Teu666@aol.com Nicholas Peters, M. Born on 24 Aug 1849 in Germany. Nicholas died on 1 Jan 1920, he was 70. Immigrated to the United States at an early age (9 years), with his parents. In January 1919, he had twenty-five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. His obit says he was born in 1847 in Germany, and that he lived in Milwaukee for a few years after immigrating. Then moved to Pierce town, Kewaunee County, his parents died there. In November 1919 he was struck by an automobile. It was not believed that the injuries were fatal. However, it is also believed that his death was the result of those injuries. After hitting Nicholas the driver of the car hurried away and left him laying in the street. Nicholas somehow managed to reach home and was then confined to his bed for most of his remaining time. On 13 Jan 1869 when Nicholas was 19, he married Mary YOUNK, in Kewaunee County, WI. Born on 18 Apr 1853 in Manitowoc County, WI. Mary died in West Allis, WI on 20 Apr 1936, she was 83. I thought this post from another list might help explain the new Yahoo "use agreement" that is now in effect as part of their takeover of Geocities. Yahoo has tried to say that they NEED this kind of agreement in case they want to feature your website on their front page as advertisement., among other things. Yeah, that's right, they're only asking for the ...."royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive and fully sublicensable right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute....worldwide....in any form....now known or later developed." Could anyone help? Sampson Peters was born to Edward and Emma Peters at Wallers Row, Faversham. We have the birth cerificate of this fact and we also know he married Amelia Rebecca Bunting in Faversham at the Parish Church. What we are wanting to find out is this: Did he have any further brothers and sisters. What happened to his mum and dad as all traces of them seem to have disappeared from the GRO records. Any helpful advice would be appreciated TIA Kevin picard@locutusgbr.idps.co.uk
