Thanks David!! And Mark, here is what I know about the Quarterly as I put my co-editor hat on: Peters & Allied Families Quarterly The Quarterly was founded in 1997 by Albert Peters of Fort Worth, Texas. It started out as primarily focused on James & Mary (Bird) Peters Descendents but has expanded its outreach to All lines of Peters & their Allied Families. ….and do we need help!! With the new expansion into other lines of Peters, it has become necessary to ask people from that particular line to become a co-editor and bastion that line of Peters. This helps out tremendously! Because we have so many research projects going on within our own line of Peters. On the other hand, there are many people aching for new info on other lines of Peters & Allied Families. Did I say Allied Families? Yes, never underestimate that piece of the puzzle because it's our biggest contributor!!! Just to give you an idea on the growth of info on James & Mary (Bird) Peters Descendents since 1997: Our FamilyTreeMaker chart grew from 9 ft wide to over 105+ ft wide! One Editor grew into One Editor and 8 Co-Editors! 1 Line of current descendents grew to 6 Lines of current descendents known No info on ancestry to some very possible ancestry speculation What kind of articles do we have? Factual Articles sent in by contributors Factual Articles researched by Editor and Co-editors Family Recipes with stories Prayer/Praise List Gravestone Replacement Projects Peters & Allied Families Web Database Project 2000 Speculation Corner Book Project If you even think you can make a contribution….let us know! I am sorry to have to post this on the list but I cannot find the email address to Susan. Please if you have comments to make to someone, email them personally and not to the list. I have a ton of email to go through than read what you wanted to say and flood my box with 6 different emails. Also noone can remove you from a list but yourself and the owner, and like me being a list owner I figure that if you want to be removed bad enough you will do it yourself. Hello Fox and Peters Family Hunters! I come to you today from the depths of computer hell. Help! Through a major attack of the evil computer gremlins, my husband bless him, wiped my entire c drive, including a ton of genealogy files, my Internet Favorites List, and my JUNO program, including my ADDRESS BOOK. No, there was not an option to backup the address book, but I kept forgetting to print a hard copy. Sigh. On top of that were about 200 assorted messages I hadn't saved to floppy or printed out. While I hope going thru my files will allow me to reclaim most addresses, it would help me greatly to restore my address list most promptly if you're one of my cousins or if your correspond with me from time to time on our possible Fox/Peters cousins fi you would whip me an email. Especially on the Peters side, several people have contacted me in the past 2 months regarding connections and are now lost in that batch of 200 emails. If you've emailed me and received no response, please do so again. Sorry for the inconvenience to all. Crystal Crystal. A. I think we should be careful and not accuse others with out proper proof! These web sites are joyous in us thinking others are at fault. On the other hand, these websites are just posting boards! And sometimes a contributor is just that(not taking credit) in the work he/she is contributing. Just be careful! It is improper to slam in general! "No proof....no accusing", should be the rule here! We don't want to rock a good thing here!! Info sharing Good!!! Info Stealing Bad!!! John Peters New York
My GGF was John Thomas Peters, born KY 1842, died in Napa, CA in 1929. His parents were John Peters and Elizabeth Peters, from KY, some dispute as to whether they were cousins, or from entirely different families. They were in Missouri, and then went to California, I have a memoir that John T wrote about his life and travels, and would be happy to share it with anyone interested. John T married Matilda Phillips in 1869, divorced her in CA in 1875, and married my GGM Honorah Theresa O'Sullivan in 1875. One of their many children was Bernice, my grandmother. John was in real estate, and also operated the Mervyn Hotel in Glen Ellen approx. 1885. Any information greatly appreciated! thanks, Martha Hamilton Scott __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Send instant messages & get email alerts with Yahoo! I think we do need this type of letter on here. Why should someone steal someone else's work and not have their name be know to the world. It is STEALING as far as I am concerned. Tell it like it is. A thief is a thief! Lanah De Witt
There are appropriate ways to deal with theft. We do not have the means to deal with it, and dispicable as it is, this is NOT the place to process a complaint. We have no proof of either person's case. For all we know one is libeling the other. I empathize with your situation (if valid), but prefer not to have it become part of my life.
