Peters Thank you so much for responding to my"Any Peters from Florida" I am searching for Isaiah Peters,my grandfather...his son my father,was Henry M Peters,,,My father always said he was born in Cypress Florida..Jackson County...My grandmothers name was Anna Warren...I know that Anna was born in or about 1859.in Decatur Ga....Her parents John Warren...and mother Mary Rudd were both born in Gadsden Florida John abt 1821,and Mary 1835..abt..I guess they moved to Decatur Ga,for all three of their children were born there..Henry in 1857 Anna in 1859 and John William in 1864...I do know they all went back to florida,for remember my father saying that they lived in Wauchula Florida when he was a young man of 9..how long they lived there I do not know....I cant find anything on Anna or Isaiah,as to when they married,or any birth records of their children ,,Carry Peters..William Peters,Henry M Peters..my father..and Mary Peters....who married a Whidden...Cary was born in 1898,Henry in 1905...not sure when Mary or William were born....I just would love to know about Isaiah....If you notice,my grandmother would have been in her mid fortys when my father was born...this was surprising to me.....and I wonder if she was married befour.....any help if you know of this set of Warrens or Peters.I would appreciate so much....thank you....shirl4455@aol.com

This Minerva Ester Peters lived in Kansas City, Kansas when she made application 12-6-1954. Her maiden name was Minerva Esther Sellon, born 4-29-1877 in Clay Co, Minn. Blanche D. Peters, 89 of Sandlick Community, Flemington, died October 3rd, 2000, in the United Hospital Center, Clarksburg, WV. Blanche was born September 18th, 1911, in West Virginia Blanche was a daughter of Odie and Margaret Virginia Swick Bartlett. Blanche's first husband, Hersel Parks, and her second husband, Calvin Peters, both preceded her in death. Blanche's survived by her three daughters Olive Virginia Sapp, AliceJane Poling and Betty Jenkins; two sons, Charles Peters and Frankie Peters; a brother, Wayne W. Bartlett Sr.; 32 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. I am cross-posting to CROSS-L, PETERS-L, and ENGLAND-L as I think this note might interest all three groups. I am descended from Thomas Peters of Anderson County, Tennessee and his wife Sarah B. (Jenny) England. In the pension application of Thomas Peters for his service in the War of 1812 is a statement signed by Milly Cross which says that Milly was at the wedding of Thomas Peters and Sarah B. (Jenny) England in 1812. I have been trying to figure out who Milly Cross was. Some of you all may already have this information, but if so I could not find it in the archives of the various lists. It appears to me that Milly Cross was Amelia (Milly) England, sister of Jenny B. (Jenny) England and sister-in-law of Thomas Peters. Amelia (Milly) England was born about 1807, so she would have been about five years old when she attended the wedding and about 65 years old when she signed the affidavit. Amelia (Milly) England married Jesse Cross, b. about 1804 in Tennessee, and it appears to me that this is the same Milly Cross who attended the wedding. First question: can anybody confirm that my guess about Milly Cross is correct? Second question: can anybody shed any light on Jesse Cross? I have nothing on his parents. I am descended from Alfred Carter Cross of Anderson County who was born about 1812 in Tennessee and who married Zipporah Peters, and I don't have parents for him, either. I wonder if Jesse Cross and Alfred Carter Cross were related. Note that Zipporah Peters was a daughter of Thomas Peters and Sarah B. (Jenny) England. So if my theory on Milly Cross being Milly England is correct, then then my Zipporah Peters was a niece of Milly England Cross. Jesse Cross and Alfred Carter Cross were the right ages to be brothers. Thing is, there is also an Alfred Cross b. 1810-1820, son of Brittain Cross, in Anderson County at the same time. So even if Jesse was the brother of Alfred, the question would them be which Alfred. But I think it's more likely to be my Alfred Carter Cross than the other Alfred Cross because the sons of Brittain Cross are (I think) fairly well accounted for there is not a Jesse among them. For the 1840 Anderson County, TN census I have Cross Jesse 11001-000010001. Who is the 70-80 year old female? Might it be Milly England's mother Vesta Zipporah Choate who married John England? I cannot find Vesta Zipporah Choate any other place in the 1840 census. Of course, the 70-80 year old female might be a relative of Jesse Cross rather than of Milly England.
