Dear all. I have managed to trace some of my ancestors back to the following people, but at the moment can take it no further. I am hoping that some of you may have details of these people in your own research?????? Robert ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- McNab, McDougal, Taylor Duncan McNab, married Catherine McDougall on the 19th of August 1792, in Monzie, Perth, Scotland. Duncan was a farmer. They had issue: 1 Catherine McNab, christened on the 30th of March 1801 at Monzievaird and Strowan, Perth, Scotland 2 John McNab, christened on the 15th of May 1803 in Comrie, Perth, Scotland John McNab, (son of Duncan McNab and Catherine McDougall as given obove) married Murray Faichney (see that family). John was a shoemaker. He died on the 31st of January, 1874, in Crieff. 1 Janet McNab, born in 1831, Crieff, Perthshire. She married Robert Taylor, 2 Duncan McNab, christened on the 4th of March 1832, at Crieff, Perth, Scotland 3 Robert McNab, christened on the 7th of September 1834, at Crieff, Perth, Scotland 4 John McNab, christened on the 13th of May, 1838, in Crieff, Perth, Scotland 5 David McNab, informant of his father's death ........................................ Elizabeth McNab whose parents I do not yet know, married Robert Taylor on the 16th of November 1823, at Crieff, in Perthshire. They had issue: for details see the section on Taylor. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Faichney, McIlwhannel, McNab and Patrick David Patrick married Jean Mc Ilwhannel, on the 18th of June, 1777, at Monviard and Stowan, Perthsire. They had issue: Murray Patrick, born on the 17th of November, 1778, at Monviard and Stowan, Perth; she married Robert Faichney on the 8th of November, 1801, at Crieff, Perthshire. Robert's parents were most probably named John and Murray. They had issue: 1 Murray Faichney, of whom next 2 Jean Faichney, born on the 9th on December, 1804, at Crieff, Perthshire 3 John Faichney, born on the 21st of July, 1806, at Crieff, Perthshire 4 David Faichney, born on the 27th of May, 1821, at Crieff, Perthshire Murray Faichney, was born on the 26th of December, 1802. She died in 1874, in Crieff, Perth. She married John McNab. This is the John McNab as given as the son of Duncan and Catherine above. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Taylor and McNab Robert Taylor, married Elizabeth McNab on the 16th of November 1823, at Crieff, in Perthshire. They had issue Robert Taylor, born in 1830, in Crieff, Perthshire. He married, on the 20th of May, 1853, in Glasgow, Janet McNab, the eldest child of John McNab and Murray Faichney. (see MacNab, Faichney, McIlwhannel and Patrick). John was a master Tailor. He died at the age of 66 at Cambusbarron, Stirling, on the 9th of February, 1896. A copy of his testament is in my possession. Janet McNab, born in 1831, in Crieff, Perthshire, died in 1913, in Cambusbarron, Stirling. They had issue: 1 John Taylor, OBE, JP, MP for Dumbarton Burghs, was born on the 21st of December, 1857, at Whitburn, West Lothian. He married Agnes Gordon Wood, the daughter of William Wood, and Isabella Dobson; from Yoker; on the 20th of December, 1891, at Blythewood, Glasgow. At the time of their marriage, Agnes was a bookkeeper. John died on the 19th of September, 1936. They had issue: 2 Duncan Taylor, born on the 10th of February, 1860, Whitburn, West Lothian. 3 Murray Faichney Taylor, born on the 29th of January, 1862, Whitburn, West Lothian. 4 Elizabeth McNab Taylor, born on the 16th of May, 1864, at St. Ninian's, Stirling 5 Jessie Taylor, born on the 25th of August, 1866, at St. Ninian's Stirling. 6 David Taylor, born on the 21st of September, 1868, at St. Ninian's, Stirling 7 James Taylor, born on the 11th of February, 1871, at St. Ninian's, Stirling -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
