Specifying birth year reduced these (and the system now seems to allow for age variation to account for early or late birthday in year of birth and early or late date of death in year of death). But still too many hits. Not thinking I specified county as Angus. 4 possible, one in Fowlis Easter! Alexander McKay died 21 Aug 1861 aged 1 year and 4 months in Fowlis Easter. The parishes of Culross and Tulliallan, adjoining the counties of Fife and Kinross; (b.) Part of the parish of Kippen, surrounded by the county of Stirling; and (c.) and (d.)Two detached parts of the parish of Caputh, each surrounded by the county of Forfar. It contained two detached parts of other counties, viz., part of the county of Forfar, consisting of a detached part of the parish of Kettins, and part of the county of Stirling, consisting of part of the parish of Logie. There were twelve parishes situated partly in the county of Perth and partly in other counties, viz., Abernethy, Alloa, Alyth, Arngask, Caputh, Coupar Angus, Forgandenny, Fossoway & Tulliebole, Kippen, Lecropt, Liff, Benvie & Invergowrie, and Logie. It was also found necessary to deal with the parish of Fowlis-Easter, which is for certain purposes united to the Forfarshire parish of Lundie. Taken from 'Scottish County & Parish Boundary Changes 1891' " I have people in Arnprior, Kippen and most records have it in Stirlingshire but some have it in Perthshire. This delayed me for a long time in finding where the family came from! All I initially had to go on was an 1851 Glasgow census record which listed a birthplace as an illegible word starting with 'A', Perthshire. Judy
