Hello List, I posted this query some time ago and thought I would give it a try again. I am looking for information on the ROSE family who originated in Kingussie Inverness but lived for many years in Blair Athol. Aeneas ROSE was a piper at Blair Castle and on the 1881 census he has a servant-Jane STEWART age 20 born in Lanarkshire living with his family. Blair Castle records do not show Jane. I want to prove Jane was my great aunt. If so she would have connections to Mary MCPHEE ms STEWART born in Madderty who married Alexander MCPHEE and lived in Newtonmore/Kingussie Inverness.
