Hello All Well tomorrow my wife and I leave for Australia to visit our sons and their families is Sydney who settled there earlier this year. From my earliest confirmed family member David CLARK m Margaret TAYLOR in Findogask,Perthshire, 18 July 1823 I have traced the "trek" to Newburgh,Fife and Dundee.From there to South Africa and now Australia. Stories of other family members have been passed down and I was,in April this year, finally able to trace my g.grandfather's eldest brother's family in Maitland,Australia. The 1881 census shows my g.grandfather living at 30 Pennycook Lane,Dundee while his brother,David is in Kent,England(no wonder I had difficulty finding him).It is believed that it was some time before 1881 that the families last saw each other although there was correspondence up to 1938. Anyway we will be meeting and I believe both branches are looking forward to it.I would like to thank the many members on the various lists who have helped this event happen.
