    1. [PERTH] Where is Whiteley, Cargill?
    2. Rhonda Windsor
    3. HI, Yesterday, I asked where was "Whiteleys". I should have asked where was Whiteley, Cargill. I have followed the enumerator for the parish of Cargill on his route during the 1881 census, and I still can not find Whiteley. This place is in the second enumeration district, which appears to have Stelitz Wood as the centre of the district. The districtt is 10 pages long. The enumerator starts at Wellses (Wellsies), moves onto Layston (Laystone), the East Hatton, Hattons Cottage, Farm and Cottages. His next place of call was Isla Cottage, then Mains Cottage, the Cargill Station. He then moved onto Mains of Cargill Farm, Cargill Inn, then Cargill.... After that, he moved onto Gallowhill, then Gallowhill Farm, then Hillocks. After Hillocks, he visited Whiteley (4 houses), followed by Hallow Farm, then Mains of Cargill. Both Hallow Farm and Main of Cargill were uninhabited. Why would the enumerator visit the Mains of Cargill Farm (page 4), and then return to Main of Cargill on page 10? Am I just confusing myself by following the enumator on his round? I can not find Whiteley, nor Hallow Farm on current day maps, using www.multimap.com, nor on the 1867 map on http://www.old-maps.co.uk Could it be possible that the place called Strelitz is Whiteley? Any suggestions welcome... Rhonda Canberra, Australia
