Dear Mail List: Many years ago I was very pleased to discover that an ancestor, Alexander Dun, who was born about 1722, had been ordained in the Church of Scotland in 1747, married Elizabeth Rankine in 1754, and was the Minister at Bendochy until his death in 1784. There were five children, one (William) marrying Frances Renwick in 1782, and another (Ann) marrying Robert Henderson in 1779. It is also probable that a third child (Elizabeth) married Robert Low. However, I cannot find any definite reference to Alexander`s birth - and almost nothing during his ministry, except as he baptised the many children of Ann and Robert in Dundee.
