Anyone hearing or seeing anything on the Smeaton Family, please let me know? So far the following documents were located for my grandfather, William Smeaton, b. Crief, Perthshire abt. 1845. They are: US Army Discharge, military pension as an Invalid, Intention To Become a US Citizen, and a marriage certificate for my grandfather. In about 1857 William migrated to the U.S. and 7 years later joined Company C, 29th Regiment Michigan Infantry and fought in the Civil War. He was injured and subsequently discharged from the Army in 1865 at Harper Hospital, Detroit, Michigan. In 1892 he married his fifth (5th) wife Mary Melissa Wright, 15 years of age. He reportedly became a doctor and died in 1908 in Richview, Illinois, a year after Mary gave birth to my father, Raymond Campbell Smeaton. I was born Nov 12th, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan. My father died in July 1979 in Ypsilanti, Michigan where he was buried next to his only wife, Irene Woolsey, born May 29, 1903 and died March 1975. My two brothers, Maynard and Raymond and three sisters Renee, Marylin, and Anita are "still alive and kicking". Thank you! Robert (Bob) William Smeaton San Diego, CA USA Perth area. I am trying to find information on James WILSON and Euphenia ROBERTSON, living in Glencarse, Perth, Scotland in 1840-41. Could some kind sole please do a lookup in the 1841 census. I think that James would have been a domestic servant with a child Alexander about 1 year old. Thank you, Walter CA, USA
