I've been searching for some verification of what I'd been told over the years... that Patrick Peter SMALL owned a tavern and was an innkeeper. I found internet documentation of such, at least: Inns in the Carse of Gowrie, 1806 Return of Hotels, Inns and Public Houses, &c in the Carse of Gowrie Licencing District on 29th April 1806 http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/sct/PER/inns.html Names of Occupier: Peter Small Where Situate: Longforgan What Parish: Longforgan Inn/Hotel/Public House: Public House No. of Rooms: 10 Can someone lead me to how I can obtain documented material for this? Jim, I actually complied this page. As stated, the list came from Lawrence Melville's book. Melville was however quite vague on many of his sources.
