Rose, The way I have it figured, Robert Rodger, married Elspeth Marshall in 1706, or then Catherine Ogilvy in 1707, and was the father of Robert Rodger in 1710. When the younger Robert married, his daughter was Isabel. Isabel married James McCainsh in 1772 and had John, Janet, James and William. I don't know who the other two sons would be. A missing link? At age 33, it would seem Isabel wasn't a young girl when she married. All-in-all, as a Monzie girl, Isobel would be family. I just haven't gotten around to plotting that line out on my "battle-board"! I do know that the Rodger and Marshall families must have had a close social bond, if nothing else. It was a Marshall that my great-grandfather worked for in Newfoundland when he left Crieff. I expect I haven't offered anything new with the above, but if I have, please let me know. Lawrence David Rodger, Patriarch, "CRNC, USA" http://members.cox.net/clan_rodger/ "Prayer to an Ancestor" I remember you. You did not live in vain. I love you. You did not die in vain.
