I have an old family Bible where family births, deaths, etc. are recorded. My grandfather's great-grandmother (easier to say that way than to figure out how many "greats" she is to me!) is recorded as having been born in 1835 in Milton's Bog, Auchterarder. That is also where her father records his place of residence when he first received the Bible a few years before that. Does anyone know what Milton's Bog is? Is it a hamlet, or a farm? Any help would be greatly appreciated! (I know her baptism was recorded in Dunblane if that helps at all.) Her name is Jean/Jane MacFarlane, her father is William MacFarlane and mother Isabella Ferguson. The family immigrated to Delaware County, New York USA sometime around 1840 (they were in NY state for the 1840 census) and Isabella died sometime around 1840 as well. I have more details if anyone thinks they have links to this family.
