I am looking for Scottish records of three of my ancesters. WILLIAM DUNCAN III, b. 19 Apr 1692, Dumfrieshire, and died 1781, Culpepper Co, Va, USA; m. Ruth Rawley, b. 1702 in England, d. 1781, Va. His father was CHARLES DUNCAN I, B. 6 Sept 1662, Glen Eagles, Perthsire, Scotland, d. 1720, Alexandria, Bellhaven, Virginia, USA. His father was WILLIAM DUNCAN, b. 1630, Perthshire, Perth, Scotland, d. 7 Jan 1692 in Perthshire. He m. SUSAN SARAH HALDANE. His father was JOHN DUNCAN, m. JANET MACARTHUR, b. 1635, Perthshire, Scotland, d. 1665. She was the daug of RICHARD HALDANE AND MARY KENNETT. Scot records show that a Wm III disappeared and was disinherited by his grandfather, Rev William Duncan of Glasgow. This is a huge coincidence but I believe it to be just that, a different Wm I and Wm III. Does anyone have any other information. I have a copy of the will of Rev Wm Duncan. Thank You, Mavis.
