Hi everyone So that's what it is.... My Scots mother suffered from this all her life, and actually had to have several toes broken & reset. I have inherited the hammer toe problem, only not so severe, but just to make up for it, I got my father's queer toenails! My genes are also Highland in origin (Argyll/Perth) - maybe it's running barefoot through the heather? > Caroline Campbell Yeo > >> RESEARCHING: > >> > >> DEWAR, CAMPBELL, ROBERTSON, STARK, THOM(P)SON, Lanarkshire > >> ANDERSON, HENDERSON, THOM(P)SON, Stirlingshire > >> CAMPBELL, ROBERTSON, STARK, CRUMPTON, Perthshire > >> MCFARLANE, MCLACHLAN, Argyllshire > >> CAVET(T) Dumfriesshire Original message -------------------------- ----- Message from "Donald" <esquipi@sofnet.com> on Wed, 5 May 2004 20:37:20 -0600 ----- To: PERTHSHIRE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [PERTH] hammertoes I've heard hammertoes are common among Scots. But I haven't heard if they are a one-gene, one family kind of thing. All I know is I've got them and my total heredity is Highland... Sheila
