Caroline, My maternal grandsfather was Alexander Thomson from Stirlingshire. He was brought over to Canada to instruct people in the woollen industry. The only thing I know is his name and where he was from. There were a lot of secrets in that family and we were always told it was not our business. There is no one left to ask. My mother was an only child, adopted. We actually think she was the child of her adoptive father and her aunt.Molly. After my grandmother's death, my grandfather married Molly.. My grandmother's maiden name was Maxwell. My mother was born in Halifax, N.S. and birth records were lost in the Halifax explosion. Intrique and mystery!
