Hi, I think my great-great-grandfather, Rupert PAUL married Ann TAYLOR in 1843 in Muthill. There is another Rupert PAUL/Ann TAYLOR marriage 11 days later in Barony, Lanark. What you are probably seeing is proclamations of marriage in two Parishes, because the couple did not live in the same Parish. The LDS did not distinguish between marriages and listing, procalamtions and pledging, hence the two entries. As aesult, the IGI is only a rough an inaccurate guide which should be checked against the orig transcribed record in the OPR's. Probably neither is a marriage date. Dave Stirling
