Guy, For maps you might try entering "old-maps.uk" into google. Then select County Gazeteer which appears in hypertext embedded in the paragraph. Then follow the directions. However, before you do that you might want to use the parish locator at http://www.genuki.org.uk/big. On the bottom of the screen is a map of Great Britain and Ireland; click on Scotland. When that page opens you will find "parish locator" in hypertext. Click on that. Type in the names of the parish. The site will give distance and bearing to neighbouring parishes. You can expand the radius of your search.
