I have an ancestor - Hugh Young - who came to US May 1851 on the Charlotte Harrison - from Greenock Scotland. I have located a copy of "request for Citizenship" and the granting thereof but there was NO bio info. I am sure that each immigrant (or maybe ships passenger) had to furnish biographical information - I don't think that in 1851 just anyone could walk into Court and request citizenship without furnishing background info.
