    3. Hello Listers, I am seaching for any connection to the McQUEEN Family who lived at Harehill, Blackford before 1860. Alexander McQUEEN was a blacksmith who married Mary McNAB from Killin though no marriage record has survived. They also were not good at handing over their childrens names to be entered into the registers. 2 Children Colin & Mary are in the Logie register where Alex was working for the BEAN family, Blacksmiths, they are the only 2 found. Census show they had Christian, Alexander & Elgin[girl] in 1841 but Duncan McGREGOR born abt 1834 was also a grandson & came to Invercargill,NZ in the 1860's. One very small entry in Muthill shows a Janet born in 1828 to Michael McGREGOR & Janet McQUEEN. I suspect Isabel died as Duncan is brought up by his grandparents. A daughter Christian McQUEEN is the only marriage I think I may have found to a Hugh GILLIES in Lanark. Christian Clark also a grandaughter lived with her grandparents till they died, no record of her either. Another daughter Jessie/Janet had an illegit son to William STIRLING & he also lived with these grandparents[my husbands grandfather] this was discovered in the Blackford Kirk Session Minutes. So were these motherless children from illicit or legal unions!!! Has anyone seen these McQUEENS??? Barbara Stirling
