my goal for this year was to look for my ancestors in Fife as it turns out some of them seem to have come from or gone to somewhere else. Today I found that of one of my 2x's great-grandmothers who was married in St Andrew's, had died in Edinburgh and it's quite possible she was born in Perth. Jane Davidson age 78, wife of Paul Peattie pensioner 42nd Highlanders, died Sept 1867 in St Giles, Edinburgh parents John Davidson, brewer and Janet Smith. In the IGI I found a Jean Davidson baptised April 4, 1789 Tulliallan, Perth dau of John Davidson and Janet Smith. The IGI shows other children listed to this couple, John b 1791 & Janet b 1793. I've noticed that this site has an active interest in the Davidson name and wonder if someone has any information on this family they would be willing to share. Thank you Sandy Dyson
