List, I am trying to determine if the book, once "The Landed Families of Strathearn", now "The Landed Families of Perthshire", is or ever was a valid publication. Supposed to have been written by Gordon McGregor, the story goes that his first publisher failed to follow through fulfilling orders and has been sued for breach of contract. The story goes on that his second, recent, publisher was offering the book in print and on compact disk, payable via PayPal, Visa-USA, or Visa-Britain. Having placed a second order and having gotten no response, it appears to be a possible scam. No great loss at less than 200 US Dollars lost, but I would wish to advise against others investing in this apparent "ghost" publication. E-mail messages to the supposed author, and to his supposed wife, returning a promise to make good on the first order appeared to be genuine, but messages to two persons who indicated they had purchased the book prior to my placing a second order has gotten no response. If anyone on this list has actually seen such a publication, please indicate so prior to my turning this matter over to service suppliers and authorities as "International Internet Crime", "Mail Fraud", and "other charges", within the next thirty days.
