One of the progenitor couple's daughters married a McAlpin, another a McLaren, Auchleskin - this is represented by 'NN MCALPIN/MCLAREN [Auchleskin]' Anyone know who Robert 'Laith' MCLAREN who m Christian McLAREN in 1809 was? Janet Drummond was having kids over a period of 25 years in a house that was described in the text as hardly fit for human habitation! What would that mean to our softened sensibilities now?
