My grgrgrandparents were Peter Fisher and Christian Gowans. They lived in Gilmerton around 1820 - 1840. Their children were baptised at Monzie. I have records for their children: John 1826, Mary 1832, Peter 1834, James 1836, Peter 1838. Mary is the only girl among those. Four other girls were born: Margaret 1823, Isabella 1828, Christina 1830, Mary 1840. I know their approximately birth year from other documents - death certificates, censuses. I cannot find birth/baptism records for them. Was this customary, not to worry too much about baptising the girls?
