    1. "Cooper" in Fife
    2. In transcribing an entry from the Orkney OPR in 1676 I came across a witness to a baptism who was described as, "Mr. Robert Honyman [perfone? Parson?] of cooper in Fife". The fourth word is hard to read, but I suspect that it says "parson". The rest is quite clear. My questions are: 1. I can not find a place in Fife named "Cooper". The closest I can find with a similar name is "Coupar Angus" (in Perthshire? - my map does not show the old county boundaries). Can anyone suggest where this person may have come from? 2. Does anyone have access to a copy of Fasti and can see whether there is anyone listed as a minister with this name? He was never a minister in Orkney. The individual in question was probably a close relative of the Honyman family in Orkney, which included Andrew Honyman, Bishop of Orkney. Yours in hope ....
