Dear Listers, In researching ' Wills ' on 'scottishdocuments.com ' one description reads Farmer at Fordie, Thereafter residing at Cotler . Fordie, in the Parish of Caputh, Perth. I have looked on the map and can't find any reference to Fordie or Cotler .Could anyone please tell me what these names refer to. Kind regards, Margaret, California

Margaret Go to http://www.old-maps.co.uk/ and select to search for an address. Put PH1 4LQ in the box and you'll see Fordie Mains Farm and Fordie Mains Farm Cottage listed. Cotter Fordie (note the spelling) will have been the farm cottage. He probably retired from farming and moved into the cottage. ============== Grant E. L.
